Finally, a site update

We've been so busy lately I've been bad about updating this page. We have gigs booked at Holiday's in Auburn, NH & the Pasta Loft in Milford, NH in January 2010. Both new venues for the band, so we're psyched about that.

Tammy & I (Mike) have been sitting in with Tom Ballerini's band on a few occasions. Big thanks to him and his band for letting us jam, and for hooking us up with some bookings. We've also been frequenting the Wednesday night jams at the Pasta Loft hosted by Morgan, Ryan, & Pete.

Summer's here - New band line-up, and new venues to play

Well, the calendar shows summer's here, but the weather doesn't. With any luck clear sky's are just around the corner.

As for the band, we've had a change of drummers. After years of fruitful collaboration, Lupo has left the band as our regular drummer. We wish him all the best and hope to jam with him again from time to time.

After an extensive search, in his place we've brought on Cameron Thomas as our new drummer. He's a very talented musician and great guy - we feel very lucky to be working with him.

We're currently in the process of getting up to speed with the new line-up, and preparing to play a series of shows at new venues for us. We just played our first gig at the Village Trestle in Goffstown... great show, and wonderful turnout with a farewell cake for Todd. We'll be back there sometime in August or September. In July we'll be at Moe Joe's in Manchester and Slim's in Rochester. Then we kick off August with an afternoon show at Wally's on Hampton Beach. Plus, we have a few private parties mixed in.

Lot's of exciting stuff happening. As always, we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming shows - and be sure sign up for our eNews Letter to keep informed on all the latest.

Spring's here and we have a busy Summer ahead

We've been so busy hitting local jams, networking with club owners, and booking gigs that the website has been a bit neglected the last few months. The good news is we have all sorts of great shows lined up - many at new venues for us. We have shows coming up in Portsmouth, Boston, Lawrence, and Goffstown, NH (Yes!... finally a show local to Manchester). We're excited to play new clubs and try out some new material.

The Media page is still under construction - I promise it will be live soon. Until then there are some photo galleries on our myspace page, and 10 songs available for streaming.

We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming shows - and be sure sign up for our eNews Letter to keep informed on all the latest.

Raising Scarlet is booking live show for 2009, and already has some good ones on the schedule.

We are very lucky to be invited by Vykki Vox to play Chick Singer Night at Johhny D's on Thursday, February 12th. It will be a night of great music for a wonderful cause. All proceeds go to funding school music programs. Tickets are $10, either at the door or purchased in advance. Be sure to say you are there to see Raising Scarlet!

RaisingScarlet.com goes live!

It's been a lengthy process, but with the launch of this website the final step is complete in the transformation of Rude Toys to Raising Scarlet. Along with the new name we have a new line-up and new material.

After holding many auditions over the summer we finally settled on Mike Solis to play bass for Raising Scarlet. Mike is a talented musician (with a degree in music no less) who was looking to get back to playing with a live band after nearly a 10 year break from the scene when he auditioned. We had a lot of good bassist try out, but in the end he was our hands-down pick to fill the opening. He's been a great addition to the band and we're lucky to have him.

As for the music, we still play many of the originals from the Rude Toys days, and are adding new originals material as well. But we've also spanned out to include cover songs - a mix of rock, funk, soul and blues - interpreted with our own unique flare. We think you'll like what you hear.
